Thorsten Schaaf is a computer scientist, certified healthcare manager (Charité) and research project manager at the Institute for Medical Informatics. Dr. Schaaf has specialized in the areas of system architecture, workflow/knowledge management and data protection/data security. Dr. Schaaf was responsible for the areas of system architecture and data protection-compliant process models in several third-party funded research projects, including the MACSS project (Medical Allround Service Solutions, funded by the BMWi). Thorsten Schaaf has supervised a number of thesis projects, is the institute's teaching coordinator and is responsible for several courses.
