Maria Sekutowicz holds degrees in medicine, biology and molecular medicine with stays abroad in Toronto and at the MassGeneral Institute for Neurodegenerative Disease in Boston. After receiving her PHD from the Charité she worked in field of basic neuropsychiatric Research and was awarded the Wilhelm-Feuerlein-Price for her research findings on outcome prediction based on functional brain activity patterns in patients after alcohol detoxification. She works as a medical doctor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine since 2020. Her current research interest is the development of machine-learning-based predictive models for postoperative delirium using multimodal electronic healthcare records. Maria Sekutowicz is a research fellow of the Junior Digital Clinician Scientist Program, a joined funding program of the German Research Foundation and the Berlin Institute for Health.
