Goal

The working group deals with the evaluation of data from clinical practice in order to improve patient care and clinical processes. Furthermore, it offers statistical-methodological consulting as well as support in methodological questions for all projects of the Institute of Medical Informatics.

Description

With advancing technical development, more and more extensive data sets are available to medical research. In addition to planned clinical studies, data from clinical routine are increasingly being collected, for example data from intensive care units. These data are characterised on the one hand by their quantity per patient and by their heterogeneity. Furthermore, these data are often collected longitudinally at very different points in time. In addition to improved monitoring of patients, the evaluation of this data can also contribute to process optimisation in the hospital and possible resource savings. For this, a valid and high-quality evaluation of these data is necessary. This is exactly where the working group comes in.
