Description
Many diseases are caused by changes in mechanical cell properties in tissues. For example, mechanobiology has central importance in disease processes such as fibrosis and cancer. Elastography as imaging-based palpation includes versatile technologies for reliable assessment of mechanical tissue parameters. It can be used to determine novel quantitative mechanical biomarkers in almost all organs for improved diagnostics and therapy.
